2 cups sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter
2 1/2 cups raw peanuts
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, corn syrup, water, salt, and butter together. Cover and bring to boiling point slowly. When boiling remove cover. When it reaches soft ball stage, add peanuts. Stir frequently to prevent scorching. Cook to hard crack stage. Mixture should smoke and should be a deep caramel color. Remove and quickly stir in soda and vanilla. Pour out on buttered sheet. Spread as thinly as possible. Cool.
