2 1/2 cups boiling water
2 cups quick oats or 2 cups of mush
1 cup shortening
2 cups white sugar (too much, use 1 1/2 cups)
2 cups brown sugar (too much, use 1 1/2 cups)
4 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
3 cups flour

Icing:
12 tbsp. butter
2 cups coconut
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup light cream or canned milk
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cake ingredients and bake at 40 minutes at 350º.

Icing:
Mix ingredients and spread over cake and put in oven 10 minutes.
