1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
3 c. quick oats

Fudge Filling:
12 oz. pkg. milk chocolate chips (2 cups)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 T. butter
1/2 t. salt
2 t. vanilla
1 c. nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, mix in eggs and vanilla, add dry ingredients, stir in oats. Press 1/2 of mixture in bottom of 9"x13" pan, lined with heavy duty foil. Make fudge filling.

Filling:
Put all ingredients except vanilla and nuts in saucepan on low heat. Mix until smooth and melted, then add vanilla and nuts (opt). Pour fudge over cookie layer in 9"x13" pan. Let cool. Take remaining cookie mix and drop by teaspoonfuls on top of fudge mixture (4 across, 6 down). Bake at 350º for 20 - 25 minutes. If it needs more baking time, put foil over top to prevent burning. Check to see if appearance is somewhat brown. Cool, then refrigerate. When ready to cut, take out of foil and cut with pizza cutter.
