1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
rind of 1 lemon
Glaze: 1/4 cup sugar
juice of 1 lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, till light. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together and add alternately with milk. Fold in lemon rind. Bake in greased and floured loaf tin for 1 hour at 350.degrees. Turn out of pan and brush top, botton and sides with glaze.
