1 medium onion, chopped
3/4 c butter
1/2 c flour
3 10oz cans chicken broth
2 c milk
2 c half and half (or milk)
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
5 + cups mixed vegetables (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and peas)
2 c diced ham (opt)

Saute onion in butter until tender, add flour; cook, stir until bubbly. Add chicken broth until thickened, about 5 min. Stir in milk, cream, and seasonings. Add veggies. Cook until heated through.
