1 cup softened butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 ¼ cups flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
3 cups old-fashioned oats
1 ½ cups raisins (or dried cranberries or 1/2 of each)
1 cup chopped walnuts (I've used pecans and sliced almonds)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat until well blended. Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture until well blended. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.

Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges begin to brown.

These are absolutely the BEST oatmeal raisin cookies I've tasted! Using half raisins and half cranberries makes them fabulous!
