1 Cup butter, cut up
3/4 cup chocolate syrup
8 chocolate covered caramel and nougat bars ( 2.5 oz each), cut up
2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 325º.

Grease and flour a 12 cup bundt cake pan.

In a 4 quart microwave safe blow, combine butter, syrup, and nougat bars. Heat 5- 5 1/2 minutes on 50% power, whisking once. Whisk until smooth.

Whisk in sugar, then buttermilk, vanilla, and eggs.

Stir in flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda.

Pour batter into pan. Bake 1 hour 30 - 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean.

Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Loosen cake from pan; invert onto rack to cool.

You could also make this in a jelly roll pan and frost with chocolate frosting. This is a lot like the cake they originally served at Harrigan's warm with ice cream.
