Cake:
2 sticks butter
1 cup water
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 tsp.vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk


Icing:
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
7 tsp. milk
1 box white powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 to 2 cups pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Put butter, water and cocoa in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Mix flour and sugar and add to the pan. Add vanilla, eggs and buttermilk with 1/2 teaspoon soda. Cook cake in a large baking sheet or cake pan at 450º for approximately 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare icing and pour over hot cake when ready.

In a saucepan, add butter, cocoa, and milk and bring to boil. Remove from heat. Pour in powdered sugar, vanilla, pecans and mix well. Pour icing on hot cake.

I was so excited when I found this recipe hidden away in a box and could include in this cookbook! I made it often for Joe's birthday, or as a treat at the beach. Fabulous cake!
