3 cups shredded cabbage, (cored, stems removed)
1 cup white sauce (medium-thick)
Sliced ham
Salt (to taste)
White pepper (to taste)
1/4 cup white wine (optional)

To make this a casserole add:
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
Buttered bread crumbs (enough to cover casserole)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook cabbage in boiling, salted water until tender, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain. Put cabbage back into pot and add white sauce, ham and seasonings. Heat and serve.

For a casserole, follow the steps above but place cabbage and ham mixture into a casserole dish and cover with cheese and breadcrumbs. The buttered breadcrumbs can be made by melting butter in a pan and heating/mixing the breadcrumbs into the butter. Bake at 325º until heated through.
