Red Crushed Peppers Flakes

Hunk of Italian Bread

Add olive oil to frying pan and heat up. Drop eggs in pans and cook lightly. Transfer eggs to dish and drizzle with oil from fry pan. Sprinkle with salt and red pepper flakes. Dunk eggs yolks with crusty Italian bread.

Unfortunately I never remember my Grandpa making this dish however I have heard this story so many times it is actually embedded in my memory. When my Grandmother would fight with my Grandfather she would go in the other room and tell Al her husband that he would have to make his own dinner. He would say OK no problem and would take out the fry pan. He would start frying the eggs and the smell would get to my grandmother so much so that she would have to come out into the kitchen and ask if she could "own-ja" the bread in his eggs.
