7 qts cukes
1 cup salt
4 qts water
cut cukes in half lengthwise and let stand overnight.

1 pint vinegar
2 qts water
1 tsp turmeric
10 cups sugar
5 cups vinegar
2 tbs pickling spices

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse the cukes and drain--boil for 15 minutes in 1 pt vinegar, 2 qts water, and Turmeric. Rinse in cold water and drain. Pack in bottles then make syrup of 10 cups sugar, 5 cups vinegar, 2 tbs of pickling spices.
Put spices in a cloth and tie in a knot. Let boil for 5 minutes. Pour over pickles and seal tight. Wait 6-8 weeks before opening
