Crust:
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Nutty Topping:
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. each sugar & corn syrup
2 tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sliced almonds
1 square semi-sweet chocolate

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and baking powder; set aside. Melt butter in large saucepan.
Remove from heat; blend in sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture.
Spread batter in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch (3.5 mL) cake pan. Bake in 350ºF (180ºC) oven 20 minutes.
Spread nutty topping evenly over surface. Bake 15 minutes longer. Cool. Melt chocolate; drizzle over pan. Cut into bars.

Nutty Topping:
Melt 1/4 cup butter in small saucepan. Add and mix in sugar and corn syrup, water and salt. Bring mixture to a boil; boil 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in sliced almonds.
