Ingredients: Parchment paper for the pan 1 package plain lemon cake mix 8 tbsp. (1 stick butter), melted 2 large eggs 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup sliced almonds or pecans

Directions:Sift the cake mix and flour together.
Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Place the cake mix, melted butter, eggs, flour and nuts in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed until well blended 3-4 minutes.
Flour your hands. On a lightly floured surface form two or more loaves. Place them on the parchment paper. Place the pan on the center oven rack.
Baking for 30-35 minutes for the first baking. Remove from the oven. Let cool at least 5 minutes. Slice the loaves on a diagonal making about 1/2-3/4" slices. Lay the cookies on their side and return to the oven for 10 minutes. Reduce the oven to 200º F (or turn the oven off) for 30-40 minutes drying time in the oven. |
