3 lb lean chuck roast (ask the butcher)
5 yellow potatoes (medium size)
4 carrots
3 stalks of celery
1 sweet yellow onion
1 pkg of Lipton Dry Onion Soup Mix (2 env)*
2 cups of water

* Instead of the onion soup mix, you can buy an envelope of Slower Cooker Pot Roast mix. Same ingredients, just follow their directions for the mix and water amount.

Put crock pot on low (you will be cooking the roast for the entire day - 8 to 10 hrs).

Slice the onion and place the slices on the bottom of the pot.

Place the meat on top of the onions.

Cut the potatoes into large chunks, peel and slice the carrots into long chunks, clean and slice the celery into chunks.

Tuck all of the vegetable around, under and on top of the meat.

Sprinkle the 2 envelopes over everything then pour the 2 cups of water over everything.

Cover and let cook - no need to stir.
