1 1/2 c. boiling water
2/3 c. vegetable shortening
2 large eggs, beaten

Directions:
In a bowl, pour boiling water over shortening and let stand until lukewarm (90ºF.) Using a wooden spoon, beat eggs, sugar, salt, 1 c. flour, and yeast into shortening mixture. Add remaining flour 1/2 c. at a time until dough is stiff. Knead in the rest of the flour. Place dough in a large oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until dough is doubled or in the refrigerator for at least 4 hour or overnight. Punch down the dough and turn out onto a floured surface. Roll out dough into 1/2 in. thick rectangle. With a biscuit cutter or round cookie cutter, cut out circles of dough. Brush each circle of dough with melted butter and fold into a semicircle. Pinch closed. Place rolls, touching in ungreased cake pans. Cover the pans with tea towels and let rise again until doubled in bulk. Preheat over to 350º and bake 17-20 in. or until slightly browned. Serve warm.
