2 cups of stale bread crumbs
(use white bread, not wheat)
4 cups scalded milk
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
raisins if desired

Mix altogether. Bake 350 degrees for 30-45 min.

When ever Mom made this pudding, it was a surprise and often I remember it being a mid-evening snack. It kind of made up for the days we had to suffer through "Milk Toast" for dinner.
