1/2 cup salt
4 quarts thinly sliced cukes (cucumbers)
2 green peppers, sliced
8 onions, thinly sliced
6 trays of ice cubes
4 cups sugar
4 1/2 cups vinegar
2 tbsp tumeric
1/2 tsp cloves
3 1/2 tsp mustard seed

Directions:

Sprinkle salt over sliced vegetables and mix well. Put ice cubes in between layers of salt and vegetables. Leave overnight.

Rinse. Combine other ingredients. Heat to boiling. Drain vegetables. Pour hot syrup over. Heat to scalding process - 1/2 hour.
