1 c Jack Daniel's whiskey
1 c ketchup
1 c cider vinegar
1 c dark brown sugar
1/2 c onion, very finely minced
2 T Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 T Tabasco
1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
1/4 t liquid smoke

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large, heavy saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, till slightly thickened, about 20 minutes, stirring from time to time. Transfer to jar and refrigerate.

I add some more Tabasco to make the BBQ sauce hotter and simmer for about an hour to thicken. The sauce keeps for several months in the refrigerator.
