2 cups dark syrup (sorghum if available)
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or half butter and shortening, melted
2 beaten eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. ground cardamon
8 cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening; add sugar, syrup and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Roll dough with hands about the size of a pencil, cut into pieces about the size of hazelnuts. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350.
