3 cucumbers, peeled and sliced
1 whole onion, sliced
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp celery seed (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Slice the cucumbers and onions. Place them in a bowl. Mix water, vinegar, sugar and celery seed in another bowl. Pour over the cucumbers and onions. Refrigerate a couple of hours to let it all blend. Should keep in the refrigerator for a few days.

My grandparents used to keep this in the refrigerator all summer long. I'm sure the veggies all came from their garden. My mom has continued to make it, and now I make it also. It's a good side with sandwiches, burgers, or other summer salads. I like to make it in a glass bowl, because that just feels cooler in the summer.
