1 lb. fresh or purchased pizza dough
1 cup oil (for frying)
Optional: tomato sauce or sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Rub your hands in a little oil. Break off about 2 inch pieces of dough.

Stretch the dough into a large circle. (You can place a little oil on a dinner plate and stretch the dough to cover the center of the plate to form the pizza fritta.)

Drop the dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown - about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Serve with tomato sauce or sugar.
