4 C sugar
2 C crisco
2 C oil
1 Btl white port wine
2 Tsp cinnamon
1 box anise seed
8 Tsp baking powder
5# flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix, crisco, oil wine cinnamon and anise seed in pan on stove. Bring to boil stirring constantly until sugar is melted. Remove from stove and add baking powder and flour. Stir constantly till mixture is smooth. Roll cookies into shape and place on cookie sheet. Bake in oven at 375 for approximately 18 minutes.

Marie has been making these cookies ever since I can remember. She always made them for every event she is invited to. Her husband Tony is always there to help her make the cookies. The nice thing about these cookies is they make great gifts at Christmas time.
