1 box raisins
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 cup orange juice
1 T shortening
1/2 cup applesauce
1 T cinnamon
1 t salt

3 cups flour
1 -4 oz jar maraschino cherries (do not drain)
1 t soda
1/2 cups chopped nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 8 ingredients and boil for 5 min. Cool, then add flour, cherries w/juice, soda and nuts.
Pour in well buttered 9x13x2 cake pan. Dough will be stiff and must be spread evenly in pan. Bake in a 350 oven for 45 min.
