2 c. dark brown sugar (1 box)
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. beer (Budweiser)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, stir in eggs, nuts, and spices.Sift flour with soda and salt. Stir in beer. Combine beer mixture with creamed mixture. Mix until well blended.
Pour into greased and floured 10" tube pan, 9x13 pan, or two loaf pans.
Bake 350º about 1 hour and 15 min. Use less time for the smaller pans. Cool 20 minutes and remove from pan.
