Chip and Date Cake Recipe

1 C. chopped Dates
1 1/2 C. Boiling Water
1 1/2 t. Soda
3/4 C. Butter
1 C. Sugar
2 beatern Eggs
1 3/4C, Flour
1 t. Salt
l large pkg. Chocolate Chips
1 C.Nuts
1/3 C.Sugar

Combine Dates,boiling Water, Soda and set to cool. Cream Butter and Sugar Then add Eggs and other ingredients. Add dates and water . Sprinkle Nuts, Chocolate Chips and 1/3 C. Sugar. Bake in
9 X 13 pan 350 degrees 40-50 minutes. In layer pans bake 35 minutes.
