2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Cut in the shortening till like coarse crumbs. Make a well; add milk all at once. Stir quickly with fork just till dough follows fork around bowl. Turn onto lightly floured surface. (Dough should be soft) Knead gently 10 to 12 strokes. Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick. Dip 2 inch biscuit cutter in flour and cut out biscuits. Bake on ungreased baking sheet or skillet at 450º about 12 minutes.

This recipe is a great southern traditional but.... honestly the frozen Pillsbury biscuits are just as good and faster. Please don't tell my Granny!
