2 lbs. sausage, regular or hot, 1 lb. butter-not margarine, 1 quart heavy cream, 1/2 gallon whole milk-not 2 % or skim, 2 cups flour, salt and lots of pepper

place milk and cream in large pan to heat, brown sausage, add butter and flour, mix well, add to milk mixture
