2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
2/3 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once before measuring. Mix and sift dry ingredients together three times. Cut in shortening. Make a well in the dry ingredients; add buttermilk gradually until soft dough is formed. Roll to 1/2" in thickness, cut with a cookie cutter. Brush with melted butter. Bake in oven at 425º for 10-12 minutes.
