2 c. margarine or butter, softened
1 ½ c. granulated sugar
1 ½ c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
4 ½ c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
1 pkg. (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Mix margarine, sugars, and eggs. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown 8-10 minutes. (Centers will be soft.) Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet, and cool completely on paper bags.
