1 1/2 -2 lb. ground beef
1 large onion chopped
1 green pepper chopped
2 28 oz. cans of tomato sauce
1 14 oz. can stewed tomato's
1 12 oz. can tomato paste
1 28 oz. can fresh cut-up tomatoes
2-3 tbsp. fresh chopped garlic
1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
1 tsp. seasoned pepper
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1-2 tbsp. fresh chopped basil
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4-1/2 cup of sugar

In heavy skillet, saute onion & green pepper with 1 tbsp. olive oil for about 3 minutes. Add ground beef, salt and pepper and brown together, stirring often. Drain meat in colander and set aside.. In a large pot, mix together all other ingredients EXCEPT fresh basil. Add cooked ground beef, stir together well. Bring sauce to a hot temperature but not a boil, stirring constantly, then reduce heat to low or medium low. Cover and cook for 4 hour's stirring every so often, while monitoring temperature to make sure not to boil or burn sauce. Stir in fresh basil and cook for about 1 hour more. Serve over hot spaghetti noodles, add fresh Parmesan cheese on top if desired.

This is a hearty traditional spaghetti sauce. As always, you can add or remove ingredients but this concoction seems to be a friend and family favorite!
