12 oz. bulk pork sausage
1 c. shredded cheese
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 T. + 3/4c. maple syrup
1 T. vegetable oil
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cook sausage over medium-high heat 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until no longer pink. Drain sausage on paper towels. In ungreased 8 or 9-in casserole dish, spread cooked sausage. Sprinkle cheese over sausage. In large bowl, beat egg, milk, 2 T maple syrup, and the oil with a wire whisk until well blended. Beat in flour, baking powder, and salt. Pour batter evenly over sausage and cheese. Bake uncovered 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve topped with remaining syrup.
