3/4 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. applesauce
2-1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 c. chocolate chips (or raisins)
1/2 c. chopped nuts if desired
Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Mix together shortening, sugar and egg. Stir in applesauce. Stir in dry ingredients. Drop on greased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes.
