1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup olive oil
1 - 12 oz can tomato paste
1 - 2 lb can diced tomatoes ( not
not drained
2 - l5 oz can tomato sauce
1 - tbsp salt
2 - tsp pepper
1/8 - rounded tsp garlic powder
1/3 - cup grated Parmesan Cheese
3 - tsp. italian seasonings

Directions:
Brown onion very slowly in butter ,about 20 min or so, over very low heat. Add olive oil and remaining ingredients. Simmer sauce about 2 hrs. over very low heat. Do not broil Meanwhile if meat is desired in sauce; brown 1 lb. italian sausage or 1 lb of hamburger seasoned with salt/pepper and Italian seasonings and crumble fine. Add to sauce after the 2 hrs. and then continue simmering over low heat for another 1-1/2 hrs.
