1 pkg. (2 lb) cake flour
1/4 cup baking powder
1½ tsp. salt
3½ cups sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
2½ cups vegetable shortening
6 eggs, well beaten
3 cups milk
4 cups (15 oz) blueberries, drained (retain juice)
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 oranges
¼ cup cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, 3 cups sugar & nutmeg. Add shortening, eggs and milk; beat until smooth, fold in blueberries. Mix ½ cup sugar and cinnamon; then sprinkle over cake batter. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes.

Blueberry Sauce:

Mix juice from berries with enough orange juice to make 4 cups. Stir juice into corn starch, add orange rind, and sugar. Cook over low heat until smooth and thick. Makes 1 quart. Use sauce over cake.
