2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
2½ cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk
4 eggs, added one at a time
1½ tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. German chocolate
Dressing:
1 pt. whipping cream
1 cup coconut
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts
3 egg yolks
1/2 stick butter

Directions:
Directions:
For cake: Cream shortening & sugar together. Sift all dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk. Beat eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla; fold in melted chocolate last. Bake in oven 350° for 40-45 min. For dressing: Stir all dressing ingredients together in top of double boiler and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Cool for a few minutes and put between layers and on top of cake.
