4 1/4 to 1/2 c flour
2 tsp salt
3 tbsp sugar
2 pkgs yeast
1 1/2 c lukewarm water

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve the yeast in the water, adding the sugar and salt. Add 2 c of the flour and beat with mixer until smooth. Add the rest of the flour and knead 6 to 8 minutes. Let dough rise 20 minutes. Shape into 12 balls and munch holes in the centers with your finger. Let these raise for 15 minutes.
In a pan of boiling water, to which 2 tbsp of sugar has been added, let the bagels simmer for 7 minutes, turning once. Place on cookie sheet and bake 35 minutes at 375º until golden brown.
