"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Directions:
Midmorning dig a 2 foot by 2 foot hole in the ground. In the pit build a large roaring fire using good hardwood (oak, hickory, maple.)

While the fire is burning down, preheat Dutch oven and brown the roast then add the remaining ingredients.

When coals are white, remove 1/2 of the coals. Place Dutch oven on remaining coals and then cover it with the other 1/2 of coals. Then bury the Dutch oven and coals with soil. Leave foil sticking up from soil for easy removal of oven.

When you return from hunting, 6-8 hours later, the meal will be ready and waiting for you
