2 Cups sifted flour
2 Tbs sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg, beaten
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles course cornmeal. Combine beaten egg and milk and add to flour mixture, stirring just enough to make a soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead 20 times. Pat to 3/4" thickness and cut with floured cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes 12 biscuits.
