Personal Notes:
Once upon a time my wonderful husband decided that since we were on the poor side that if we bought live chickens, killed and froze them that we could save money. Wonderful idea if any of our family had ever killed or dressed chickens. He bought multiple chickens and butchering day at the Heasley’s began. HA Glenn was attempting to kill them and the kids and I were gutting and pluckkking!!!! The kids were holding their noses and gagging and I was yelling get back here to them. I would take them into the house to wash and singe. I was using one of Glenn’s torches to singe and guess what? I caught the kitchen curtains on fire. They burned up the side and across the top with the kids and I yelling for Glenn. I grabbed the sink hose and was able to put the fire totally out. We had some repairing to do. We did freeze 10 chickens though. I don’t know how much we saved. HA
