8-to-10 quartered and cored apples (Phyllis says Macintosh are the best)
a handful of redhots.
about 1/2 Cup white sugar.
about 1/2 Cup brown sugar.
3 Cinnamon sticks.
dash of nutmeg.

Directions:
Directions:
Place 8-10 quartered and cored apples with enough water to cover the bottom of a large pan. Cook over low heat until mush. (about 15 minutes) Strain. Stir in a handful of redhots until dissolved. Add brown and white sugar to taste. Add 3 cinnamon sticks and smash through a colander. Can be put in freezer containers and frozen.
