1 Loaf French Bread (cut in twelve 1 inch diagonal slices)
1 cup sugar
8 Tablespoons softened butter
5 eggs-beaten
1 pint Heavy Cream
Dash or more of Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon-Vanilla
1/2 cup raisins

Rum Sauce

In small pan, Add 1 cup sugar
2 cups water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp.Butter
1/2 tsp. cornstarch in 1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp. Rum (preferred) or
rum flavoring

Bread Pudding: Oven-350º
Cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs, cream,cinnamon, vanilla, and raisins. Mix well. Pour into 11x9 pan. Arrange bread in the mixture and let stand for 5 minutes and then flip bread.
Set pan into longer pan that has 1/2 inch water. Cover with foil and bake for 45-50 minutes. Uncover the last 10 minutes. When done, custard should be soft.

Rum Sauce: Combine sugar, 2 cups water,cinnamon, and butter. Bring to boil, stir in cornstarch/water mixture. Simmer until the sauce is clear. Remove from heat and add rum. Spoon the rum sauce over each individual slice.
