Ingredients: 1 stewing chicken cup up. 2 qts water 1 large onion, quartered 1 celery rib. sliced 5 chicken bouillon cubes 5 whole peppercorns 4 whole cloves * 1 bay leaf 2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Dash Dried thyme 2 medium carrots, thinly sliced NOODLES;
1-1/4 cups flour 1/4 tsp salt 1 egg 1 tbsp milk

Directions:In large pot, combine the first 12 ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 2-1/2 hrs. or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken from broth; cool. Debone chicken, cut into chucks. Strain broth and skim fat; return to put. Add chicken and carrots. For noodles: mix flour and salt in medium bowl. Make a well in the center. Beat egg and milk; put into the well. Stir together forming a dough. Turn dough onto a floured surface; knead 8 -10 times. Roll into a 12-in x 9-in rectangle, Cut into 1/2 inch strips, cut the strips into 1"pieces. Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes or until noodles are tender. |

Notes: Joshua I made this for you and Papa one time when you had spent the night with us. Some of the noodles were too thick and like to have never cooked. (this was my 1st time to make noodles) but you thought it was wonderful. Just found the receipe again. I'm gona make it again. I bet you or Papa don't remember it. Oh how cold it was outside. I could use a little of Colorado right now:::l02 outside.8-19-2011
