1 box (18 1/4 oz.) Devil's Food cake mix
1 1/4 c. water
1/2 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
6 oz. evaporated milk
1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. vegetable shortening
1/8 tsp. salt
1 can chocolate fudge frosting

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs with electric mixer at medium speed for 3 min. Pour batter into greased jellyroll pan. Bake 15-25 min until cake is set. Cool completely. Beat all remaining ingredients, except frosting, 10-15 min until light and fluffy. Filling will look curdled and scary at first. It takes some time for the ingredients to pull together. Spread over cooled cake. Heat frosting in microwave until pourable consistency. Pour over filling layer. Refrigerate overnight or until firm. Store cake in refrigerator.
