3 cups of chicken broth
2 cups of fresh or frozen peas (field peas, black-eye, pink eye, crowders)- Don’t use dried or canned peas
2 cups of diced tomatoes
¾ cup coarsely chopped sweet onion
3 or 4 Tbsp. chopped garlic, to taste
1 or 2 chopped fresh seeded jalapeños, to taste
1 or 2 Tbsp. of cumin, to taste
Fresh cilantro sprigs as garnish (optional)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in a soup or stock pot, bring to a boil and simmer for at least 45 minutes or until peas are done to suit you. Garnish with cilantro if desired and offer Tabasco sauce.
