2 cups sugar
3/4 cup evaporated milk
12 oz chocolate chips
2 tbsp butter or oleo
1/3 cup Karo syrup
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar and evaporated milk in heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture boils. Turn heat to low and continue cooking (a rolling boil) for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, Karo syrup, butter/oleo and vanilla. Stir well until creamy. Pour in buttered 8x8 pan. Chill in refrigerator 1 or 2 hours until firm. Cut in small squares. Store in refrigerator.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I make 2 separate batches because a can of evaporated milk contains 1 1/2 cups. Variety: add additional 3/4 cup cut-up Andes mints just before pouring in 8x8 pan (Julie's variety).
