1 lb.bag of fava beans
1 med sized yellow onion chopped
salt
pepper
1/3 cup oil
about 4 cups water
pasta of your choice (save a half cup of pasta water if needed at end)- if angel hair, break into 1/4 inch pieces
chopped tomato- optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cook fava starting in cold water progressing to medium heat. Add enough water to cover fava (about twice the amount of beans). Add onion when fava is slightly cooked. Cook down until beans are almost mushy. Add salt and pepper. Stir. Add oil. Cook for only one more minute. You may also add some chopped tomato and cook for a few minutes more.
The longer it cooks the thicker it gets. Add more seasoning if you would like. Cook and drain pasta.Stir in fava- you may need to add a little pasta water if dry.
