Turkey Burgers with Sweet and Sour Sauce Recipe

2/3 lb turkey
1/2 lb ground smoked ham (I have always just used ground pork, it's the same animal lol)
1 cup soft fresh bread crumbs
1 egg beaten
3 Tbs. finely chopped onion
3 Tbs. finely chopped green pepper
1 tsp dry mustard
dash salt and pepper
2/3 cup undiluted evaporated milk
t Tbs. butter or margarine
1 can pineapple slices

Sauce:
Juice from pineapple
2Tbs red wine vinegar
2 Tbs brown sugar
1 Tbs soy sauce
1 Tbs cornstarch
1 Tbs water (optional)

Directions:
Directions:

1. in a bowl combine the ground turkey and ham
2. add the bread crumbs and beaten egg. add the onion and the chopped green pepper. combine well
3. stir in the mustard, dash salt and pepper, and evaporated milk. Let rest 30 min
4. Shape mixture into 4 patties
5. Brown patties in a skillet on both sides in a little butter. Reduce heat.
6. Cook over low to medium heat until patties are cooked through. Set aside
7. Prepare sauce: In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and cornstarch.
8. Bring to a boil stirring. Cook until sauce thickens, about 1 min. Add a little water if too thick
9. Pour sauce over meat patties. Place a pineapple slice on each. Serve
.
