2 Cups Flour
1 cup water
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter
1/2 shortening
3 tablespoons cocoa
2 eggs
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla

ICING:
1 stick oleo
6 tablespoons sweet milk
3 tabl;espooms cocoa
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

CAKE:
1. Sift flour, sugar and salt in bowl. Set aside.
2. In a saucepan, put butter, water, shortening and cocoa. Bring to a boil.
3. While cocoa mixture heats, put eggs in a separate bowl and mix well.
4. To the eggs, add soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir well and set aside.
5. When cocoa mixture boils, pour over flour mixture, stirring gently until well incorporated.
6. Add buttermilk mixture to flour/cocoa mixture. Stir well.
7. Bake in greased and floured jellyroll pan for 25 to 30 minutes.

ICING:
1. Blend all icing ingredients. If frosting cake hot or warm, icing will glaze. If waiting until cake cools, the frosting will be thicker and "more traditional" in style.
