1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 t ground cinnamon
1/2 t salt
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t baking powder
1 cup butter (2 sticks), room temperature

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Line baking sheets with parchment paper

In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda and baking powder - set aside

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy (~1-2 minutes). Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat to incorporate. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating on low speed to combine. Stir in the oats and dried cherries.

Using a 2 oz scoop, drop the dough onto baking sheets, leaving 6 inches between cookies. Bake until edges are just turning brown, about 20 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet, then remove to wire racks to cool completely

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When Mother was sick and getting ready to sell her Albuquerque home, we were watching Martha Stewart and these cookies were made. Mother turned to me with those big blue eyes and said "I would just love to have one of those cookies". Yep, she got them that afternoon. Now, I always picture that "pitiful" look when I make these cookies. They taste really good, too.
