1 chocolate cake mix
applesauce
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Substitute applesauce for liquid called for on cake mix package AND measure an additional 1/4 cup of applesauce

Mix cake per package directions, add extra 1/4 cup applesauce

Stir in walnuts

FROSTING
Over hot water melt 4 1 oz square of unsweetened chocolate and 1/4 cup butter
Cool slightly
Mix 3 cups sifted powder sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 t salt, 1-1/2 t vanilla
Add the chocolate mixture
Beat till spreading consistency
Frost cake and decorate with walnut halves

I have absolutely no memory of this...must have made the cake while I was at school, out playing or in my bedroom reading
